We have been visiting the Shoulder of Mutton for 11 years, we cannot praise this venue enough.  Lynne and Nick are so welcoming, all of the team are amazing and can't do enough to make sure your experience is truly wonderful.  The food is superb, the rooms are to a high standard. Great food.  Was very busy.  However the staff tried their best to keep the food coming on time. My husband had steak ale pie and he found it excellent.  A proper pie (with the whole patry, from the top to the bottom) I had veggy  burger  with chips and ring onions and they were very good. Proper portion of chips

Stayed the night with a couple of friends. Very friendly and helpful young lady on reception/bar duties. Clean comfy room. En-suite, spotless. Bar meal, pretty standard. Good draught beer, with a few lagers for my heathen friend. Quiet night's sleep. Excellent breakfast, although no HP. The lady serving us did offer to nip to the Co-Op to get some, so l had Ketchup, no real hardship. Downsides, curtains allow in way too much early morning light. Bed could be better. A bit disappointed not to be able to get a drink when we returned around 23.00. Stay again? Yes. Overall, very good. All three of us enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all who helped us.
